Olympic stars Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis, Missy Franklin, Michael Phelps and Bradley Wiggins are among the nominees for the 2013 Laureus World Sports Awards.

Andy Murray and Serena Williams have also been nominated after their Olympic and Grand Slam tennis triumphs.

Football superstar Lionel Messi is on the shortlist for the fourth year.

Sebastian Vettel has been nominated after winning his third Formula One World Championship.

The European Ryder Cup golfers have been selected in Team and Comeback categories.
