Oldest Olympic medal winner dies

A memorial service will be held on Friday for Hal Haig Prieste, the world's oldest Olympic medallist, who has died in Stratford, New Jersey, aged 104.

Prieste, who was born in 1896, the year the modern Olympics began, won a platform diving bronze at the 1920 Antwerp Games, the first held after the First World War.

In later years, Prieste went on to a showbusiness career that saw him play in the original Keystone Kops movies and other films.

In 1996, he was a member of the torch relay escorting the Olympic flame to the Atlanta Games.
