Kiwis and Manly utility Peta Hiku's playing future should be decided next week with three rival clubs reportedly locked in a bidding war for his services.
The 23-year-old is the most sought after Kiwi currently on the open market, despite having two years remaining on his contract with the Sea Eagles, with three rival Sydney clubs keen on poaching him.
The former Warriors junior could remain at Brookvale until the end of 2017, but has received a formal approach from Parramatta, while St George-Illawarra and South Sydney are expected to make offers by the end of the week.
"Parramatta has made an offer, but there are two other clubs involved as well," Hiku's manager Stan Martin told The Daily Telegraph.
"At the moment we are just getting the offers together and we'll sit down with Peta and go through the offers when we've got them all, which we expect to have in by the end of this week.
"Peta has already met with St George Illawarra and he knows the people from Parramatta, so we'll wait until he has met with this other club before we make any decision."
Since leaving New Zealand for Manly in 2013, Hiku has established himself as one of the NRL's brightest young talents but may be forced out as new Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett looks to adjust his roster for next season.
"At this stage Trent Barrett has told him he can go if he wants, but that doesn't mean he is leaving Manly," Martin said.
"He can stand by his contract if he wants to, but Peta has asked me to see if there were any other clubs interested and there are.
"We'll get the offers together and sit down with him and make a decision, but at this stage Peta has options to consider."
Manly's willingness to let him go came as a shock to Martin, with his client having scored 28 tries in 61 appearances and looking right at home in nine test appearances for the Kiwis.
"I was really surprised when Peta came back from playing three Tests with New Zealand to a club where he is on a pretty good contract and the new coach says I'm not sure if you are going to make my top side and if you want to move on, you can," he said.
"But that's footy and we'll move on and it might work out better at the end of the day, you never know."
