Scott Hartnell scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period to push the Columbus Blue Jackets over the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 on Sunday.
Hartnell scored in the first period and got the tiebreaker in the third, helping the Blue Jackets overcome a terrible second period to beat the Hurricanes for the second time this week. Carolina has lost three straight.
Markus Hannikainen also scored, and Sergei Bobrovsky had 35 saves for Columbus.
Sebastian Aho and Justin Faulk scored in the second period for Carolina. Michael Leighton, recalled from Charlotte of the AHL on Friday, started in place of Cam Ward and stopped 17 shots.
Wild 5, Ducks 3
Ryan Suter, Erik Haula and Jason Zucker scored in a two-minute span late in the third period, and Minnesota rallied to beat Anaheim.
It was the second goal of the game for both Haula and Zucker.
The Western Conference-leading Wild has won 19 of its last 22 games.
Stefan Noesen, Cam Fowler and Corey Perry scored for Anaheim, which lost goalie John Gibson in the first period with an upper-body injury. It was the first time in 10 games that Anaheim allowed more than two goals and the first time in 19 games it lost when leading after two periods.
Capitals 4, Stars 3
Jay Beagle scored 19 seconds into overtime and Washington rallied to beat Dallas.
Evgeny Kuznetsov skated behind the net and put the puck in front to Beagle. His wrist shot beat goalie Kari Lehtonen, who got tangled with a defender and lost his footing.
The Stars led 3-1 and didn't allow Washington a power play until the third period, but then Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie scored with the man advantage in the first 5:26 of the period.
Adam Cracknell and Jamie Benn scored for Dallas on plays that originally were ruled no goal. Patrick Eaves had a goal and an assist for the Stars.
Andre Burakovsky scored the game's first goal for the Capitals at 2:17 of the first period.
Jets 5, Blues 3
Bryan Little scored twice on the power play, Ondrej Pavelec set a franchise record for saves in a period and Winnipeg handed St. Louis its third straight loss.
Pavelec, starting his second game this season after being called up from the minors Tuesday, broke his own Atlanta/Winnipeg franchise record for saves in a period with 25 in the second. He had a 24-save period on Oct. 31, 2009, against Ottawa.
The shots were also a dubious mark, tying the franchise record for most shots allowed in a period.
Pavelec made 34 saves for the game.
Blues goalie Pheonix Copley, a native of North Pole, Alaska, made his first NHL start and had 24 saves. He played in one game last season.
Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers also scored for Winnipeg.
Islanders 4, Kings 2
Anders Lee scored two power-play goals to lead New York over Los Angeles.
John Tavares had a goal and an assist, Jason Chimera also scored and Jean-Francois Berube stopped 34 shots to earn his first win in his third start of the season for the Islanders. New York, which won its third straight and fourth in the last five games, came in with back-to-back shutouts.
Drew Doughty had a goal and an assist, and Jeff Carter also scored for Los Angeles, which lost its third straight. Peter Budaj finished with 32 saves.
After Los Angeles scored twice early in the third period to tie it, Lee put the Islanders ahead for good at 9:31, deflecting a slap shot by Nick Leddy past Budaj for his 17th of the season. That gave Lee four goals in two games against the Kings this season.
Devils 4, Flyers 1
Miles Wood scored twice, Keith Kinkaid stopped 35 shots and New Jersey beat slumping Philadelphia.
Kyle Palmieri and Pavel Zacha also scored and Michael Cammalleri had two assists for the Devils, who have won four of five.
Travis Konecny had a goal for Philadelphia, which has lost 12 of 15 since ending a 10-game winning streak in December. The Flyers played for the first time since a 5-0 loss at Washington on Sunday following their NHL-mandated bye week.
Kinkaid played his second game in two days in place of ill starter Cory Schneider.
Sabres 3, Canadiens 2
Zach Bogosian scored his first goal of the season in overtime and Buffalo beat Montreal in the second game of a back-to-back for both teams.
Sabres captain Brian Gionta and Cody Franson also scored. Robin Lehner stopped 36 shots.
Artturi Lehkonen and Phillip Danault scored for Montreal, and Carey Price made 35 saves.
Bogosian scored with a slap shot 1:48 into overtime, just a few seconds after Lehner robbed Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk from the slot with his glove.
Senators 3, Maples Leafs 2
Mike Hoffman scored the tying goal with 1:11 left in regulation, Tom Pyatt had the shootout winner and Ottawa beat rival Toronto.
The Senators rallied for their fifth win in six games to complete a 3-0 road trip.
Bobby Ryan also scored for Ottawa, second in the Atlantic Division with 54 points - two more than the Maple Leafs, who have lost two in a row.
Mike Condon made 31 stops in the win. He edged Frederik Andersen, who gave up two goals on 27 shots.
Tyler Bozak and Matt Martin scored for Toronto, which dropped to 1-6 in shootouts this season.
Coyotes 5, Lightning 3
Nineteen-year-old Christian Fischer scored in his first NHL game and Arizona dominated for the first two periods to beat Tampa Bay.
Radim Vrbata tied a career best with four points - a goal and three assists - for the Coyotes, who snapped a four-game losing streak and won for the third time in their last 16 games. Martin Hanzal and Tobias Rieder each had a goal and two assists for Arizona.
One of Hanzal's assists came on Michael Stone's power-play goal an instant after Arizona's 5-on-3 advantage ended.
Cedric Paquette, Vladislav Namestnikov and Ondrej Palat scored for the Lightning, losers of eight of their last 10.
Arizona goalie Mike Smith had 45 saves.
Sharks 3, Avalanche 2
David Schlemko scored his second goal of the season with 3:42 remaining in overtime and San Jose won its fourth straight game.
Joel Ward and Melker Karlsson also scored to help the Sharks win for the 15th time in their past 16 regular-season home games against Colorado. Martin Jones made 31 saves.
After blowing a 2-1 lead against the NHL's worst team, the Sharks still ended up with the two points when Logan Couture's shot was stopped by Spencer Martin and Schlemko knocked in the rebound to give Colorado its first loss in six games decided in 3-on-3 overtime.
Mikhail Grigorenko and Francois Beauchemin scored for the Avalanche, who have lost five straight and 10 of 11 games. Martin made 27 saves in his NHL debut.
Oilers 7, Flames 3
Jordan Eberle had two goals and two assists, Laurent Brossoit stopped 38 shots for his first NHL win and Edmonton beat Calgary to sweep the four-game season series for the first time.
Eberle's wrist shot at 5:58 of the first period made it 3-0 and prompted Flames coach Glen Gulutzan to swap Brian Elliott in goal for Chad Johnson, who allowed three goals on four shots.
The Oilers kept capitalizing on Calgary's mistakes in the second period. After Connor McDavid's power-play goal at 3:57, Eberle scored again at 12:24, making it 5-0 when he was left open in the slot to deflect in Matt Benning's pass.
Eberle has three goals in his last three games after ending an 18-game goalless drought.
