Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw three touchdown passes as the Steelers improved to 2-0 against fierce rivals Cincinnati.

The Bengals (1-1) fought back from a 24-9 deficit, and James Harrison might have saved the game for Pittsburgh when he forced a fumble by Cincinnati receiver Tyler Boyd on the first play after the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter.

Patriots 31, Dolphins 24

New England lost quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, then almost the lost game, but held on to beat Miami and remain undefeated at 2-0.

Garoppolo, starting his second straight game during Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension, had thrown three TD passes when he suffered a right shoulder injury with 4:02 left in the second quarter. Rookie Jacoby Brissett took over for him.

The Patriots almost blew a 31-3 lead but the comeback by Miami (0-2) fell short despite 389 yards through the air by Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Panthers 46, 49ers 27

Cam Newton threw four touchdown passes, including a pair in the third quarter to receiver Kelvin Benjamin, as Carolina (1-1) opened their home schedule by beating San Francisco (1-1) at Bank of America Stadium.

Newton completed 24-of-40 throws for 353 yards as Carolina bumped their franchise-record home winning streak to 14 games.

San Francisco quarterback Blaine Gabbert was 17-for-36 for 243 yards and two touchdowns and two fourth-quarter interceptions.

Ravens 25, Browns 20

Baltimore fought back from a 20-0 deficit Sunday to beat Cleveland and remain undefeated, while the Browns fell to 0-2 in their home opener.

Justin Tucker put the Ravens ahead, 22-20, on a 49-yard field goal with 11:19 to play and he added a 41-yard field goal with 2:53 left.

The Browns had a chance to win on their final possession, but a pass from quarterback Josh McCown was intercepted by linebacker C.J. Mosely at the goal line with 13 seconds to play.

Giants 16, Saints 13

A year after New York and New Orleans combined to score 101 points, the MetLife Stadium rematch saw the teams produce just 29 as New York edged New Orleans on Josh Brown's 23-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

New Orleans (0-2) had tied the game 13-13 with 2:54 left when Wil Lutz made a 45-yard field goal.

A big third-down completion from quarterback Eli Manning to Victor Cruz set up the winning field goal for the Giants (2-0), while the Saints slipped to 0-2.

Cowboys 27, Redskins 23

Alfred Morris scored on a four-yard run with 4:45 left to help Dallas (1-1) defeat his former team, Washington (0-2).

Morris capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive that came after Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins was intercepted throwing into triple coverage in the end zone as Washington appeared on the verge of taking a 10-point lead.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, filling in for the injured Tony Romo, hit passes of 12 yards to Cole Beasley and eight yards to Jason Witten to set up the winning score.

Texans 19, Chiefs 12

Carried by another sterling defensive performance, Houston improved to 2-0 as they limited Kansas City (1-1) to 291 yards.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith passed for 186 yards, suffered four sacks, and averaged just 5.0 yards per attempt, while the Texans forced three turnovers and ran the football 34 times to keep Kansas City off the field.

Houston quarterback Brock Osweiler passed for 268 yards but also threw a pair of interceptions swiped by cornerback Marcus Peters.

Titans 16, Lions 15

Andre Johnson caught a nine-yard scoring pass from Marcus Mariota on fourth down with 1:13 remaining to lift Tennessee past the Lions in a penalty-filled win at Ford Field.

Johnson's lone catch of the game came on fourth-and-4, and finished off a 13-play, 83-yard drive for Tennessee (1-1).

Rams 9, Seahawks 3

Three Greg Zuerlein field goals boosted Los Angeles over Seattle in a happy home opener at the Memorial Coliseum.

It was the Rams' first game in Southern California in almost 22 years since they bolted Anaheim in 1994 for St. Louis.

Cardinals 40, Buccaneers 7

Carson Palmer threw for three touchdowns, moving ahead of Joe Montana on the NFL's all-time passing yards list, and Arizona forced Jameis Winston into five turnovers on the way to victory over Tampa Bay.

The Cardinals recovered a Winston fumble and intercepted him four times. Marcus Cooper had two of the interceptions, including a pick-six he returned 60 yards in the third quarter.

Broncos 34, Colts 20

Von Miller sacked Andrew Luck and forced a fumble that teammate Shane Ray returned 15 yards for a touchdown for Denver's second defensive score in the fourth quarter to clinch victory over Indianapolis.

Baltimore quarterback Luck, pressured by the vaunted pass of Denver (2-0), finished 21-of-40 for 197 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Colts (0-2), while Broncos' signal caller Trevor Siemian was 22-of-33 for 266.

Falcons 35, Raiders 28

Quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns, Julio Jones caught five passes for 104 yards and a score, and Atlanta (1-1) held on for a victory against Oakland (1-1).

Derek Carr completed 34-of-45 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders, who lost to the visiting Falcons for the fourth straight time.

Chargers 38, Jaguars 14

Overcoming the loss of running back Danny Woodhead to a potential season-ending injury, San Diego (1-1) routed Jacksonville (0-2) at Qualcomm Stadium.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 17-of-24 passes for 220 yards and four touchdowns, two to Travis Benjamin, who caught six passes for 115 yards.
