Rob Gronkowski has revealed he's yet to spend any of the money he's been paid by the New England Patriots to play in the NFL over the last four years.
Gronkowski signed a six-year, US$54m contract with the side two years ago but revealed in his book 'It's Good tobe Gronk' that he lives on money earned in endorsement deals.
Gronkowski started out his career on a base salary of US$540k in his rookie year before signing the multi-million dollar deal at of his second season, which included an $8m signing bonus. He has an average salary of $9m.
The tight-end said he hasn't touched the more than US$10 million the Super Bowl champions have already paid him over the last five seasons.
"To this day, I still haven't touched one dime of my signing bonus or NFL contract money," Gronkowski says in an excerpt of his book published this week.
"I live off my marketing money and haven't blown it on any big-money expensive cars, expensive jewellery or tattoos and still wear my favourite pair of jeans from high school.
"I don't hurt anyone. ... I don't do drugs, I don't drive drunk, I don't break the law. ... [I'm] just looking to have a fun time."
