Yachting: Macky earns Olympics spot

Sarah Macky finished sixth in the Europe class at the world sailing championships in Cadiz, Spain, this morning (NZT) to qualify a spot for New Zealand at next year's Athens Olympics.

She had slipped from medal contention yesterday when she was ninth but finished in the top 11 to qualify for Athens.

Before the championships, New Zealand had qualified sailors in the 470 men and Mistral men and women's classes.
