Jermaine Pennant flat out refused to do a lie detector test on the Jeremy Kyle show after the nation watched him get cosy with Chloe Ayling, 21, in the CBB house.
The footballer's wife Alice, 32, tugged at the chat show host's heartstrings when she admitted she was devastated watching her husband's very public flirtation.
However, the footballer, 35, revealed the pair are trying for a baby as they put his controversial Celebrity Big Brother stint behind them.
Asked by Jeremy if he'd like to do a lie detector, Jermaine said: 'No, no. I'm alright. I'm good. But I'm not coming on the show to do one.'
He turned to reassure Alice: 'Behind closed doors.'
On trying for a baby, he said: 'Tried last night. Just the one (baby). How many times? I'd be happy with one but I don't know if she'd be happy with two.'
The couple, who have been married for four years since they tied the knot in 2014, are determined to make their marriage work after weathering the CBB dalliance.
Alice, who raise two kids together, admitted she was 'upset' when she watched her 'childish' husband strike up an intimate friendship with Chloe.
During their time in Celebrity Big Brother, the footballer failed to disclose to the model that he was married.
Not only did he hide his wedding ring and refuse to admit he was married, the ex-Liverpool professional flirted shamelessly with Chloe.
Alice explained: 'I was a bit upset. I was sat at home waiting for him to explain himself. I was a bit p****d off because he acted immature in there, there's no doubt about that.
'He acted a bit childish for sure. But like I say nothing physical went on, it got blown out of proportion. I was never going to leave him. He's never cheated on me.
'Jermaine can act immature. It's a game — he played the game, she played the game.
'The lack of communication between me and him at this point in time is the thing I struggled with.
'We've had discussions and there have been confusions for us both. Jermaine also has emotions and thought processes I don't also understand all the time. We have had conversations and we have cleared things up on both sides I would say.
'But there was never at any point where I thought I can't trust what he's about to do or what he may have done or what he may do.'
Jermaine popped the question once again and asked Alice to renew their vows when he hired a yacht in Dubai last weekend.
