The hottest talking point over the sporting weekend was the controversial Crusaders penalty try in the 71st minute of their 45-23 win over the Chiefs.

Chiefs flanker Lachlan Boshier was yellow carded for taking out Crusaders and All Blacks midfielder Ryan Crotty in what was deemed a dangerous tackle, while also conceding the seven-points for the penalty try.

Was the double punishment too harsh? Did the Chiefs defender have any other option with Crotty diving so low?

Sam Hewat and Marc Peard talk through the controversy and give an update on all the other sporting news of the weekend.
