All Blacks first-five Lima Sopoaga has come to the defence of Sonny Bill Williams after he copped criticism earlier this week.

Williams was slammed by fans after posting a snap of his wife Alana and their eldest daughter Imaan cruising around Rarotonga in a roofless convertible car.

The photo looks relatively innocent until people noticed his toddler daughter isn't strapped into a car seat, causing schools of people to comment disapprovingly.

However, Sopoaga came to his defence, posting a photo to Twitter to argue that Williams' indescretion is not a big deal in Rarotonga.

Both players are currently enjoying the rugby offseason, with Williams set to link back up with the Blues, and Sopoaga to return to the Highlanders for the 2018 Super Rugby campaign.
