The NRL career of Gold Coast star Greg Bird is under a cloud after being allegedly involved in a drunken incident at a Brunswick Heads pub.
Nine News Australia have reported that Bird was refused entry at an event of teammate Anthony Don's, and had a resulting altercation with security.
Bird told Nine News it was not a physical altercation.
The NRL Integrity Unit is currently investigating the incident, visiting the pub to review CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses.
In a statement, the Gold Coast Titans said that "the club is aware of an investigation currently underway by the NRL Integrity Unit regarding an alleged incident at a hotel in northern NSW last weekend."
"At this stage those investigations are yet to be completed so the club is not in a position to comment further until the outcome has been determined."
Bird's career could be in jeopardy if the allegations are true, with the New South Wales forward previously being fined and sanctioned by the Titans when he urinated near an unmarked police car.
Additionally, he was one of six players busted in a cocaine ring last year and was charged with supply, though was later acquitted.
