Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien has 12 of the 28 international nominations for this year's Caulfield Cup.

O'Brien has nominated the Lloyd Williams-owned pair Order Of St George and Bondi Beach as well as English and Irish Derby placegetter Idaho for the A$3 million race at Caulfield on October 15.

English trainer Ed Dunlop has nominated Caulfield Cup placegetter Trip To Paris, while premier Victorian trainer Darren Weir's 17 nominations include Melbourne Cup winner Prince Of Penzance and former Japanese stayer Tosen Stardom.

Last year's winner Winx headlines the nominations for the race at Moonee Valley on October 22, with Victoria Derby winner Tarzino and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Lucia Valentia also entered.

All up there are 170 nominations for the Caulfield Cup, the world's richest 2400m handicap and 157 entries for the Cox Plate.

Lucky Tonight's jumping prowess will be put to a sterner test in Australia at his next appearance.

The Cambridge gelding has finished runner-up in both his Victorian starts to earn himself an outing in stronger company.

"He's going to run in the Crisp Steeplechase on Saturday," trainer Shelley Houston said.

"The two horses that have beaten him at his last two starts are decent open company horses here and my guy has improved a lot."
