Ivy's Gold faces a huge test in the last race at Avondale this afternoon, but might just be up to it.

The Cambridge filly - days away from officially becoming a mare - is making her middle distance debut, which late on the day on a cut-up track, is a reasonably tough ask.

However, she is a progressive type and her lead-up form has been impressive. Last start, she finished three lengths off one of the best, if not the best, improving mid-range horses in Mr Luigi.

She finishes her races off well and the jump to 2100m may not be too much for her.

In A Minute looks the danger after two gallant winning runs in tough conditions in the lower North Island. He is a fit horse, who will keep going late.

Irish Gem is another danger.

One of the better prospects earlier on the programme is Knights Valley (R3). She has good recent form, much of it at Avondale.
