Claiming an elusive race victory is the underlying focus for Kiwi driver Scott McLaughlin as the V8 Supercars series begins in Adelaide.
McLaughlin enters 2016 after finishing eighth on the championship standings last year, but despite several podiums was never able to wrap up a victory.
The Volvo driver says it's starting to become a real incentive.
He says they haven't had a win since 2014, and this year it's very important to get one to cement their spot as a top contender.
McLaughlin says halfway through last season they improved things, but there's also a lot to improve on to make sure they're contending.
McLaughlin is again alongside Shane Van Gisbergen, Fabian Coulthard, Chris Pither and Andre Heimgartner as the Kiwis taking part.
Qualifying for tomorrow's two races begins from 6:15pm.
