Irish UFC champion Conor McGregor wants to fight boxing middle-weight great Floyd Mayweather in a billion dollar bout.
McGregor, crowned UFC featherweight champion last year, has told the Telegraph he would consider entering the boxing ring against the retired Mayweather who ended his career with a 49-0 record.
"I'm open to discussion, come at me. But I hold the key. It is me that holds the key to that fight," McGregor told the British newspaper ahead of his UFC 196 fight against Nate Diaz.
"I'm open-minded, I love competition and I love fighting. It would be interesting to see if we could make that fight happen if the fans wanted to see it. Obviously they would."
Asked if it would be a billion dollar fight by journalist Gareth Davies, McGregor replied: "I'm all about those numbers, Gareth. I would certainly do it".
Mayweather has a net worth of around US$400m and earned more than an estimated $200m from his penultimate fight with Manny Pacquiao.
