New Zealand golfers Danny Lee and Tim Wilkinson have missed out on recording a top-tier finish in the final round of the Sony Open today.
A strong final round would have given both players a chance at a top 10 finish and the valuable payday and FedEx Cup points which come with it, but the Kiwi duo slipped back into the pack.
Lee came into the final round at the Hawaii-based event in a tie for 13th, but dropped 20 spots after an even-par 70.
Lee had a solitary bogey on the front nine, before carding three birdies and two bogies on the back nine to finish in a share of 33rd at 10-under par.
Wilkinson started today in a share of 23rd after a brilliant third-round 65, but could only muster a one-over 71, dropping a crucial 27 spots to finish at eight-under.
