On 28 February, Dalton's life support was turned off after test results revealed the damage of her internal aneurysm was irreversible.
Dalton was capped 37 times for the Silver Ferns between 1996 and 2007, winning the 2003 Netball World Championships in Kingston, Jamaica.
Following her retirement from netball, she worked as a commentator for Sky TV.
