In the end they didn't come close to reaching the three-figure mark but the Silver Ferns have rounded off their pool play with a 76-20 blitzing of Botswana.
The Ferns will play the loser of tonight's final game between England and South Africa in the quarterfinals on
Thursday.

Some refereeing calls went Botswana's way early on in the third quarter but the girls in blue could not shut the Ferns down.
Irene van Dyk left the court as coach Ruth Aitken continued to rotate her squad, with Jodi Te Huna slotting in nicely in the shooting circle.

A few nervous moments for New Zealand coach Ruth Aitken in the second quarter.
A nasty fall by wing attack Maree Bowden drew a collective sigh from the crowd but Bowden immediately got back up.
Earlier in the day, Australian midcourter Selina Gilsenan damaged her ankle after a heavy fall and was taken to hospital for x-rays.

The Silver Ferns could be headed for a tonne against a battered and bruised Botswana side.
The stadium is almost packed for the Ferns' final pool game with only the odd grouping of empty seats scattered in the corners.
At half time the home side led 45-10 with Irene van Dyk seemingly scoring goals at will.
However, the Auckland is generous and every time a goal is scored by either team it is followed by loud cheers and a bombardment of thundersticks.

After their first-up hiding at the hands of Australia Samoa have secured their second consecutive win. They edged out Trinidad & Tobago 52-48.
In the other game, Jamaica finished their pool play unbeaten with a 95-31 victory over Singapore.

An injury scare in the Australian camp.
The Aussies have just thrashed Scotland 93-20 but the win may have come at a cost with midcourter Selina Gilsenan badly injuring her ankle.
Gilsenan fell awkwardly during the second quarter and left the venue in crutches for x-rays.
On court two the Cook Islands held out Fiji 42-36, while in the earlier games Malawi clinched a quarterfinal berth with their 55-52 win over Wales and Barbados beat Malaysia 62-38.
2pm
Crowd numbers are noticeably down since yesterday afternoon when the Silver Ferns were on court.
It's a dramatic finish for Malawi and has seen the African team narrowly beat Wales and travel through to the quarter final stage.
But various schools have begun to pour into the stadium lifting the noise of the crowd.
Scotland and Australia are warming up on court and Australia fans Julie and Louise Roberts say the Scots will get a pummelling.
"We were looking at the England versus Malaysia game and we reckon they should try for a hundred - just to do better than England."
The mother and daughter from Adelaide both play netball and said having the champs in New Zealand meant they could make the trip more easily.
