Netball: NZ win world youth netball championship

The New Zealand under-21 side beat England 53-39 in the final of the world youth netball championship in Florida today.

New Zealand led throughout the match heading England 13-6 at the first quarter and 26-17 at halftime before rounding out comfortable winners.

New Zealand finished the tournament undefeated after beating defending champions Australia 52-51 in their semifinal yesterday.

Australia took third place with Jamaica finishing fourth.

At the 2000 world youth cup in Wales, New Zealand under-21 finished third.
