Netball: Davu left out of coaching loop

Former Silver Fern Vilimaina Davu is seeking legal advice over Netball Fiji's refusal to renew her contract as national coach.

Delayed and outstanding payment of her salary is another issue she is hoping to settle as soon as possible.

Netball Fiji has decided to advertise the national coach and national team manager's jobs.

While both Davu and manager Asenaca Waqanivavalagi accepted that their initial terms had ended with the world championship, they were expecting Netball Fiji to call for applications after the pair had submitted their reports.

Christina Rokoua, treasurer of Netball Fiji, said Davu's wages were provided and administered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as part of a state grant for the world championship.

Fiji fell from eighth to ninth in world rankings after failing to make the quarter-finals of the championship for the first time.
