Netball: Barrett-Chase doesn't impress her daughter

Southern Steel and Silver Fern midcourter Liana Barrett-Chase may be one of New Zealand's most promising netballers, but her talents don't appear to register even a blip on her own daughter's radar.

She is mum to 6-year-old Brooklyn, a youngster with oodles of personality - and a preference for the oval ball. That's not surprising when half your genetics come from talented Highlanders and Manawatu Turbos midfielder Jonny Leota.

"She'll meet someone and be, like, 'My dad plays for the Highlanders and the Turbos ... oh, and this is my mum'," laughed Barrett-Chase.
