Netball: Australian pay talks

Australia's top netballers may soon have more than pride at stake when they take on the world champion Silver Ferns.

Netball Australia's executive director Lindsay Cane, only in the job since at the start of the year, said yesterday that one of her aims was to ensure players were paid for competing for their country.

Australian representatives receive no specific financial rewards for their involvement in the national team, although leading players are supported by sponsors.
