Kiwi drivers dominated the qualifying session in the lead up to tomorrow's Bathurst 1000.
Fabian Coulthard set a new lap record at Mount Panorama on Friday to top the time sheets, just ahead of Shane van Gisbergen. Fellow Kiwi Scott McLaughlin was fifth fastest.
Van Gisbergen said it was astunning result for the trio.
"For us Kiwis it's pretty cool," he said.
"Scotty's fast as well so hopefully ... [that] gets everyone excited about the race. We're all in good cars and got good opportunities."
Coulthard, van Gisbergen and McLaughlin will line-up in the top 10 shootout tonight, which will determine the starting grid for the leading 10 cars in Sunday's race.
