Kiwi driver Mitch Evans was forced to retire with an electrical issue in the season-opening Formula E race in Hong Kong.
Evans' Jaguar suffered a fault with 21 laps remaining and the young New Zealander was forced out of his debut event.
The Renault of defending series champion Sebastien Buemi
won the race with Lucas di Grassi's Audi second and the Mahindra of Nick Heidfeld third.
The next race in the series is in Marrakesh, Morocco in a month.
