Kiwi driver Mitch Evans has stormed to a vital win in the feature GP2 race in Austria overnight.

Evans has been plagued by back luck and a lack of genuine speed in his car this year but the result at the Red Bull Ring propels him straight into championship contention and highlights his ability.

The New Zealander took advantage of an early pit stop and made ground with a clear track in front of him to take control of the race.
