Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time F1 sporting icon Michael Schumacher, won the Formula 3 European on Saturday - 28 years after his father achieved the same feat.
The 19-year-old, who finished second place in the day's second race in Hockenheim, Germany, with a race to spare, secured his win inhis first junior championship as his proud mother watched on, the Daily Mail reported.
The young racer's mother Corinna Schumacher was seen beaming after her son's crowning moment, which saw his unassailable 347 points qualify him to race in the Formula One races next season.

The promising racer said: "It's a slightly unreal feeling. I'm absolutely delighted.
Previous winners of the series have included F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, and the 19-year-old's very own father and sporting legend Michael Schumacher.
Michael Schumacher won the German F3 tournament in 1990 before embarking on his Formula One debut with the Jordan-Ford team at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix.
For almost 15 years the sportsman competed in the prestigious Formula One championship, teaming up with big names such as Benetton Ford, Mercedes and Ferrari.
In December 2013 however the sporting icon suffered a major head injury while skiing in the French Alps and was put in a medically induced coma after undergoing two life-saving operations at Grenoble Hospital in France.
The former Ferrari driver was taken out of his coma in 2014 and has not been seen in public, remaining closely guarded at the family's home in Switzerland.
In an interview with the BBC earlier this year Mick Schumacher had said his father was a huge influence on him.

Speaking to the BBC he said: "He's my idol and I'm following everything he did and trying to look at something I could use myself."
Mercedes motorsport head Toto Wolff told Reuters that the young sportsman was under a lot of pressure from the start.
He told the news agency: "He has shown that he has what it takes and that he can become one of the greats in our sport."
