Kiwi Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen has finally finished competing in 2016 and is headed home for a well-earned break over Christmas.
The year has been a hectic one for the 27-year-old as he competed in numerous categories around the world.
He racked up the air miles - makinga total of 109 flights (42 international and 67 domestic), where he flew a phenomenal 337,457km around the globe, spent 466 hours and 22 minutes in the air and produced 41.6 tons of CO² on his way to winning a maiden Supercars crown, the Bathurst 12 Hour Race and the Blancpain GT Endurance championship.
Van Gisbergen will return to defend his Supercars crown with Red Bull Racing in 2017.
