Motorsport: Perkins steps down

Rookie V8 Supercar driver Jack Perkins has pulled out of the remaining two series races because he is struggling with type one diabetes.

Perkins drives for the Jack Daniel's Racing team owned by his father Larry Perkins.

Carrera Cup racer Marcus Marshall will be in the seat for the final events at Symmons Plains (Tasmania) and Phillip Island.

Perkins, 21, sits a lowly 49th in the series pointscore with an 11th place in race three at Queensland Raceway his only points of the year.
