A Tauranga man has sustained serious injuries after falling from his trail bike at a motocross event near Matata today.
The 42-year-old was flown by the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter to Tauranga Hospital where he is in serious condition after sustaining serious injuries to the right side of his body.
Onsitemedics prepared a landing area for the helicopter and stabilised the man who was located in a forest.
Due to the remote area of the incident and time critical nature of the man's injuries, the helicopter attended the accident.
