The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office released a statement on the matter.
'The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fair Lawn Police Department are investigating a death,' Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo said in the statement.
'The deceased is not the owner of the residence, but the identity of the male decedent cannot be released until next of kin have been notified.'
Further investigation is currently underway.
The prosecutor's office and police said additional information will be released at an appropriate time and as it becomes available.
The football star purchased the Fair Lawn home for $500,000 in 2016, according to NJ.com.
The cornerback signed a five-year deal with the New York Giants in March of that year.
Jenkins was ranked the 25th top cornerback in the league during his time with the St. Louis Rams in 2015.
