The White Ferns’ ODI series against Bangladesh has ended with another washout, with only 26.5 overs able to be completed at Seddon Park in Hamilton this afternoon.
The White Ferns had been inserted to bat after Bangladesh won the toss and set a solid platform with openers Sophie Devine
(42 off 39 balls) and Suzie Bates (51 off 80) starting well, while Amelia Kerr (22 not out) and Maddy Green (five not out) were in the middle when rain fell.
The Ferns won the ODI series 1-0 after a 3-0 Twenty20 series win, and their players will now return to the domestic T20 Super Smash competition before departing to the T20 World Cup in South Africa in February.
In the domestic scene, Northern Districts’ Caitlin Gurrey tied the record for the highest domestic women’s one-day score in New Zealand, blasting a sensational 183 against Central Districts today.
Gurrey’s blistering knock came off 145 balls with 20 fours and seven sixes, tying Suzie Bates’ 183 not out for Otago in 2006.
