Two New Zealand crews are in the top five at the Finn European championships and another is fifth at the Nacra 17 world championships as Kiwi sailors continue to impress on the world stage.
Josh Junior is third at the Finn regatta being sailed at Warnemunde, Germany, as the eventheads into its penultimate day and fellow Kiwi Andrew Murdoch is fifth. Junior was 14th in racing overnight (NZT) but Murdoch struggled in the light winds to finish 42nd - fortunately he can discard the result as his worst finish.
Vasilij Zbogar of Slovakia continues to dominate the series, taking another race win overnight and extending his lead on 23 points. Ed Wright (GBR) remains in touch on 29 points but Junior, with 40 points, has some ground to make up.
Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders are fifth at the 2013 Nacra 17 world championship being sailed at The Hague, Netherlands. The top 25 boats in the 65-strong fleet took to the water for the first of the finals races in the gold fleet, with the Kiwis finishing seventh in the day's only race.
The Nacra 17 is a new Olympic class with one male and one female.
