Jarryd Hayne makes first cut at 49ers

Jarryd Hayne has survived the first round of roster cuts at the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL team cut 10 players today and while Hayne remains on the team, Lawrence Okoye, a former British discus star and another project of coach Jim Tomsula, was cut.

Former NRL star Hayne, after three impressive performances for the 49ers in recent pre-season games, is expected to survive the final cut later this week when the team announces its final 53-man roster for the regular season.
