Ice hockey: Finalists ready for Stanley Cup tussle

This year's finals series for NHL's Stanley Cup, professional ice hockey's highest prize, sees a rematch of last year's finalists doing battle again.

The champion Detroit Red Wings will face off with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the best-of-seven showcase, which starts on the weekend in the motor city.

The Red Wings finished off the Chicago Blackhawks to win the Western conference and get to this point, whilst in the East, the Pens whitewashed their opponents from Carolina in four straight games.

Detroit beat Pittsburgh in six games to hoist the cup aloft last season.
