Hockey: NZ beaten 2-1 by Australia

The New Zealand men's hockey team has lost 2-1 to Australia at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia last night.

In a tight battle Australia finally broke the deadlock 12 minutes from fulltime with a deflected penalty corner.

David Kosoof scored New Zealand's consolation goal in the dying seconds.

New Zealand now has a record of two losses and a draw with three pool games to come.

Australia remains on course to defend its title.
