Women's Asia-Pacific amateur event and team confirmed

The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and the R&A (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews) have confirmed the inaugural womens Asia-Pacific Amateur will be played 21-24 February next year with New Zealand receiving six player invitations into the championship.

Wenyung Keh, Amelia Garvey, Juliana Hung, Britney Dryland, Rose Zheng and Caryn Khoo have all secured their place based on their World Amateur Golf Rankings and availability. The team of six will travel to Singapore where the Sentosa Golf Club will play host.

After the continued success of the mens Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship who offer the winner an invitation to both The Masters Tournament and The Open Championship, the womens event will follow suit with equally exciting opportunities for the winner.

The victor will receive an invitation to play in two Major Championships, the Ricoh Womens British Open and the ANA Inspiration. The winner will also be invited by HSBC who support womens golf around the world to play in the 11th staging of the HSBC Womens Championship.

The format of the tournament will be 72 holes of stroke play with a total of 86 players making the full field, with approximately 20 countries being represented.

New Zealand Golf would like to acknowledge the continued support of the APGC and the R&A in their quest to grow the womens game.
