Golf’s biggest rising star Viktor Hovland has taken on Kiwi Grant Waite as his new coach, according to reports.
The Norwegian had a stellar 2023, winning three titles including the season-ending Tour Championship. He also helped Europe win the Ryder Cup in Rome and had two top-10 finishes in majors
including a second placing at the PGA Championship behind Brooks Koepka.
There has been rumours the world number four would be joining Ryder Cup teammate Jon Rahm on the LIV Golf Tour this year but it appears he will remain on the PGA Tour.
Waite enjoyed 13 years on the PGA Tour, winning the Kemper Open in 1993 as well as winning the New Zealand Open the year previously. In 2000 he finished second at the Canadian Open, one stroke back from winner Tiger Woods.
