in the week, the young Manawatu/Wanganui side stepped up when it counted and won in style with number two Zhuoyi Hu chipping in to earn the final point.
This takes them one step closer to history having not won the Toro Interprovincial title since 1960. They were also lucky to have the experience of Lisa Herbert (New Zealand Golf Selector) at number four who claimed a vital point on the last hole under pressure.
North Harbour proved why they deserve to be in the final four after taking a very impressive Auckland side down to the wire before the 24-time champions slowly grinded out a 3-2 victory.
North Harbour will take huge positives from todays efforts which were all achieved without their number one Silvia Brunotti who was rested ahead of the final day.
After finding form at the right time, North Harbour will play the home district and undefeated Canterbury team, who ended Bay of Plentys hopes with a steaming 4-1 win to continue their momentum.
They will be hoping a solid crowd will turn out to cheer them home in search of their eighth title.
Outside of the semi-finals, Tasmans number one Lizzie Neale must get a special mention after being required to play the 18th hole in five of her six matches. Not only that, it was the deciding match on all five of those occasions adding huge pressure for the 15-year-old.
After falling short in the first three games which included her opposition chipping in, she fought back in her last two outings which was highlighted today by coming back from four-down at the turn to birdie three-in-a-row and escape with an inspirational halve.
Entering the final day there are just three players who hold a 100% winning record with Aucklands Carmen Lim and Miree Jung joined by Canterburys Catherine Bell while Darae Chung was also undefeated with just one halved match for the week.
The first semi-final between Auckland and Manawatu/Wanganui will tee off at 7:30am with Canterbury playing North Harbour right behind them at 8:05.
