"It was a little disappointing to kill the form I had last year."
Fox won two events and played in his first major making the cut at the Open at St Andrews as the highlight in a year of massive sporting memories.
"I did something I'll never forget really. You don't want to dwell on it but it's great for confidence when you can say you played in the best field for golf, made the cut and beat a couple of guys I have idolized, "Fox said.

Like any golfer he wanted to be more consistent and show he could compete through four rounds in tournaments. That was part of the game's jigsaw and there was always work to do on his chipping and putting. Fox felt his game was getting tighter and his swing was close to his objectives.
He was ready for the familiar surroundings at Remuera this week. Most of the leading Kiwis were playing and then moving to the next tournament at Queenstown.
Fox said his focus was on playing well and being in contention on Sunday in a strong field which had competitors from South Africa and Japan.
