LOVE Golf Futures launched in the capital

New Zealand Golf is proud to announce the launch of LOVE Golf Futures, which took place at Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club in Wellington yesterday.

A large number of young sport lovers and parents turned out in Lower Hutt to witness the next chapter in youth golf alongside Futures Ambassador Phil Tataurangi.

The strategic focus of New Zealand Golf is focused on inspiring more New Zealanders to participate in golf, especially women, girls and young people aged from 5-18.

This new LOVE Golf Futures campaign is aiming to trigger a nationwide movement to start even more youth golf programmes and grow the game which includes the whole family.

New Zealand Golf CEO Dean Murphy was present at Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club to enjoy the start of this exciting new adventure.

"LOVE Golf Futures is about enriching the lives of young people by creating experiences that inspire a lifelong love of golf," said Murphy.

"Our firm belief is that if we can create a lifelong love of golf in young people, the future of our sport and our country will be in good hands. Today showed that there is huge passion for our sport at a young age and we are really excited to see this campaign grow over the coming years."

Sport New Zealand CEO Peter Miskimmin has also welcomed Love Golf Futures.

"Kiwi kids love sport, and improving the quality of opportunities for our young people is critical if they are to develop a life-long love of being physically active," said Mr Miskimmin.

"Were looking for traditional sports to adapt so they remain relevant to young people, and thats exactly what New Zealand Golf is doing. We are thrilled to see the changes they are making to strengthen the sport and empower young people to play golf."

New Zealands number one amateur Daniel Hillier, along with Kerry Mountcastle and Jayden Ford were also there to celebrate the launch and help some LOVE Golf "Chippers, Crushers and Young Masters" share the same passion as themselves.
