Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has fallen back in the field to hold a share of fifth after the second round of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, despite shooting a three-under par 70 today.
Ko, playing in her first event in her rookie season as a professional on tour, was thejoint first-rounder leader alongside Meena Lee at five-under and is now eight-under after 36 holes.
The 16-year-old is in striking distance of the leaders at the Ocean Club Golf Course as she heads in to the third round tomorrow, with Jessica Korda in the lead at 11-under after she fired a seven-under 66 today.
American Paula Creamer carded the joint-best round of the day with an eight-under 65 as she moved to outright second at 10-under, while Michelle Wie holds a share of third one stroke back, alongside Jenny Suh, after Wie also shot a 65 today.
Ko's second round included five birdies and two bogeys as she dropped shots on the 14th and 16th, although she pulled on back on the par-five 18th.
