Ko and Lee find form

Danny Lee has responded to the pressure to perform and has produced a very successful weekend after finishing tied for fifth at the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship on the PGA Tour this morning.

Lee shot into contention at his home course with a moving day round of six-under (64) which included six birdies and one bogey to find some much-needed form after his steady decline in the world rankings to now sit 125th.

Billy Horschel was the eventual winner in a playoff against Jason Day after the world number four missed a very small putt and picked a terrible time to record his first three-putt of the tournament.

Lee who earnt US$263,438 for his efforts will aim to carry his new-found form into this weeks Dean & Deluca Invitational where Jordan Spieth is the defending champion.

There was plenty of publicity regarding the threat of Lydia Ko losing her number one world ranking which she has held for 82 weeks and she only just clung on with a 72nd hole birdie to remain the best golfer on the globe.

With So Yeon Ryu finishing equal with Ko in 10th place and Aryia Jutanugarn in 19th this will allow Ko to survive for another week as the fierce rivalry at the top continues.

It was a unique finish for the 20-year-old who made a disastrous double-bogey on 15, to then make two vital birdies on 16 and 18 to continue her reign at the top of the world rankings by the smallest of margins.

Ko started the week with consecutive rounds of four-under 67, but couldnt maintain that form during the weekend as Lexi Thompson extended her lead to record a dominant five shot victory which may ease the pain of the recent ANA Inspiration where a controversial ruling cost her a Major Championship.
