Keh remains calm to be inside Top 10 in Singapore

Aucklands Wenyung Keh has remained calm on a difficult scoring day at the Womens Amateur Asia-Pacific to be tied ninth at arguably the biggest event in the amateur calendar.

After an opening round of two-under par, she held strong to card a respectable one-over par total this afternoon to be just five shots off the pace at the Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore.

"Its been pretty steady and good to have a friend on the bag, someone to talk to and feel nice and relaxed on the course," said Keh.

"I just stuck to my game plan, stayed really patient and hopefully the putts will drop tomorrow.

Its a privilege to play on an LPGA course, its amazing here and to catch up with all my friends adds to the experience."

Overnight leader Atthaya Thitikul continues her rein at the top of the leaderboard, but is joined by Koreas Yunji Jeong at six-under par for the tournament. Jeong is one of four Koreans within two shots of the lead proving their dominance at the amateur level.

It was the birthday that Juliana Hung hoped for after signing for a round of eight-over par to slip off the pace after her impressive opening round of one-under.

In summation, 53 players successfully made the cut, five of those being New Zealanders with Amelia Garvey (T27), Juliana Hung (T38), Caryn Khoo (T43) and Brittney Dryland (T43) joining Keh for the weekend. Rose Zheng sadly couldnt hold things together to drop outside the eight-over cutline.
