Golfer's attack ad against game's biggest star is perfect

Who says sport and politics don't mix?

PGA Tour pro Billy Hurley III has produced a hilarious attack ad against fellow golfer Jordan Spieth as they battle it out for the role as chairman on the PGA Tour Advisory Council.

Spieth is a three-time major winner who earned more than $US30m last year, according to Forbes.

Hurley has managed one win on the PGA Tour since turning pro in 2011. His CV, bank balance or fan base might not be as impressive as Spieth but he may have won a few votes with some great satire.

Hurley posted a video on his Twitter feed which accused Spieth of being a 'one percenter who can't relate to the common man' and a 'dictator' who bosses around 'peasant caddie Michael Greller'.

35-year-old Hurley meanwhile paints himself as an American hero, helped by the fact he served in the United States Naval Academy.

Hurley, who has career earnings of $US4,796,272, seems to have won over Spieth who confirmed on Twitter that he would be voting for his political and golfing rival.
