Kiwi golfer Tim Wilkinson has a share of second place after his third round at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am but will need more than a bit of luck if he wants to overhaul clubhouse leader Jimmy Walker.
Walker has blitzed the field to sit at 13-under and holdsa six stroke lead over Wilkinson and American Hunter Mahan who are both at seven-under, one shot ahead of Richard H Lee, while there's a host of players another stoke back at five-under the card.
A handful of players were unable to finish their third round today (Sun) due to darkness but none were inside the top 10, and they will return early on the fourth and final day to finish their remaining holes.
Wilkinson, who has never won on the PGA Tour, will be hoping for a solid fourth round that will provide him with a nice pay-day and valuable FedEx Cup ranking points.
The Manawatu left-hander, who was 121st on the FedEx Cup standings heading in to this week's event, shot a shot a two-under 69 during his third round at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club in the three-course tournament, which has a purse of NZ $8 million.
Wilkinson opened the week with a five-under 67 on day one at the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Friday then fired an even par-72 on the Spyglass Hill course yesterday. Strong winds have plagued the tournament throughout the week.
Kiwi Danny Lee looks set to miss the 54-hole cut after he was two over par through his three rounds.
