Golf: Wanted - NZ Open backer

The New Zealand Golf Open will go ahead this November, sponsor or no sponsor.

New Zealand Golf officials are continuing to hunt for a principal backer for the co-sanctioned European and Australasian Tour event, at Gulf Harbour.

The lack of a sponsor is an ongoing saga that led Michael Campbell to call for heads to roll at New Zealand Golf.

CEO Larry Graham is adamant the event will go ahead. He says there is absolutely no doubt about that, sponsor or not.

Graham says they have been working closely with two marketing companies and are hopeful they will have something to announce soon.
