Waikato professional Brad Shilton has dropped back to a share of 28th place at the halfway stage of the final stage of qualifying for the OneAsia Tour in Malaysia.
The one-time winner on the Charles Tour, who carded a two under par 69 in the first round, dropped 22 places when he shot a four over 75 in round two.
Shilton, who had a conditional card on the OneAsia Tour in 2011, is the best of the Kiwis as he looks to join Michael Hendry and Gareth Paddison with a full card on this year's tour.
The top 20 players from the final stage of four rounds of qualifying at the Sutera Harbour Golf Club will earn full rights to the lucrative OneAsia Tour.
Wellington professional Nick Gillespie remains in the hunt in a share of 35th and Ryan Fox, who recently turned professional, is in a share of 41st with Tauranga professional Jared Pender. Taihape professional Hamish Robertson is 47th and Pieter Zwart 53rd.
Elsewhere, Hastings professional Doug Holloway was the best of the Kiwis in the international final qualifying for the British Open but that was small consolation as all three New Zealanders missed the chance to make their major debut.
Holloway came within two shots of booking his place at Royal Lytham and St Annes when he fired a one under par 71 in round two but Michael Hendry and Richard Lee were off the pace and did not complete their rounds.
Northland professional Caroline Bon has progressed to the final stage of qualifying for the Ladies European Tour in 2012.
The former New Zealand strokeplay champion finished in a share of 28th at the La Manga South and North Course in Spain. The top 35 after four rounds progressed to the final qualification for the LET.
