New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox has flown into contention at the Cordon Golf Open in France this morning.
Fox has fired the round of the day on the European Challenge Tour - a six-under par 64 to jump 25 spots on the leaderboard and into a share of fifth -just two shots off the lead.
After starting the tournament with rounds of 72 and 68, Fox went into today's round seven shots off the pace but fired six birdies and an eagle in another superb round for the Kiwi number two ranked golfer.
Fox opened his round with a bogey but sparkled at the turn, notching three consecutive birdies on holes eight through 10 before eagling 11 to have picked up five shots in just four holes. A bogey at 12 dropped him back but birdies on 16 and 18 saw him sign for a 64 and sit just two shots back of Dutchman Daan Huizing.
Fox's form has been fantastic of late, with nine consecutive made cuts including five top ten finishes. He is a near-lock to book a full-time card on the European Tour next season, and has another shot to snare his second Challenge Tour win in as many months tomorrow morning.
