Kiwi golfer Mathew Perry has produced his best finish on this year's PGA Tour China as he came second at the Beijing Open.
Perry ended the tournament at 17-under yesterday, two strokes back from winner Xin Jun Zhang (-19) who became the first China-born player to win on tour.
The
Melbourne-based Perry was left to rue a triple bogey on the par-four 17th during his final round as he coughed up a two-shot lead he held on Zhang who then made birdie and closed out the tournament on the final hole.
"I'm very proud of how I played all week. I stuck to the processes all day," Perry said after the final round. "Obviously, I'm disappointed about the result, but it's something I can move on from and I'm sure I'll be a better player for it."
Mark Brown (T31st), Mahal Pearce (T45th) and Nick Gillespie (T45th) were the other Kiwis in the field.
