Golf: Nicholson top Kiwi at English Open

Wainuiomata's Sarah Nicholson was the leading New Zealand golfer at the English Open, finishing in a tie for 37th with a seven-over total of 223 (74 75 74).

Fellow Kiwi ELizabeth McKinnon was (69 80 80) was joint 58th, five shots back from Nicholson in the Ladies European Tour event in Oxfordshire.

The event was won by England's Rebecca Hudson, a stunning 64 in the third and final round giving her a 10-under total of 206, one-shot better than compatriot Melissa Reid in the 165,000 euro ($348,840) event.
